Family Law - Domestic Violence

If you have suffered domestic violence, we can help you obtain a Domestic Violence Order from the local Magistrates Court.

Alternatively, you could engage the Queensland Police Service, where an Officer can make an Application for you.

To obtain a Domestic Violence Order there has to be an act of domestic violence. All that is required is harassment or intimidation and the likelihood that it will occur again.

In some circumstances an urgent Domestic Violence Order can be obtained.

You can apply to the Family Court for an Order that you have sole use of the home. This is usually done in cases where the parties are married and is done in conjunction with an Application for Property Settlement.
